Octopus Posted May 12, 2002 Share Posted May 12, 2002 I want to play with a friend of mine ONLY face to face,I know how to make a server,but how can I determine its IP address? also I've treid to connect to get some servers to log on into them but it seems nobody plays it anymore! thanks in advance. baphomet_irl Veteran Posted May 12, 2002 Veteran Share Posted May 12, 2002 i presume you are using dial up? cos u'd probably know ur ip if it was permanent... anywayz the method in 9x OS's id use for determining ur ip is winipcfg.exe (i think thats its name) just go to the 'Run' box and type in winipcfg.exe (start key + R then type it in) thats should show u ur ip.... in XP u can just right clik ur connection icon by the clock and go to 'open network connections', when u highlight (clik) the connection ur using, the left pane of the window should show ur ip address and subnet mask, under 'details' (u might have to scroll down a bit)... hope that helps :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
