Jedi Knight 2:How to bring up the console???

Recommended Posts

I have completed the game, and want to play around with the available cheats.

But everywhere I looked it says "To enable cheats, while playing a game, bring down the console with [shift + ~] and type: "devmapall"."

Problem is, I cannot do this.

When I press Shift + ~ the only thing that happens is that I bring up the inventory, which is mapped to the "~" by default.

What am I doing wrong?

(I have also tried to run the cheats crack that you can download from various dodgy sites: <> , but the same thing happens.)

Shift + ~ works for me, have you tried remapping the ~ to something else?

Also, to enable cheats on my JK2 I typed in helpusobi 1 and then the desired cheat, not the devmapall, although that probably works too :s

i had similar problems. i solved it by doing the following :

you have a few .cfg files somewhere in the JK2 dir. one for single player, one for multi. open the appropriate one with Notepad and do a search for the "~" key. then replace it with another key (i used the "p").

now you will bring up the console by pressing p, but the weird thing is if i want to get rid of the console pressing the "p" key won't help. i will have to press the tilde key to get rid of it.

oh well, try it out for yourself, and good luck cheating! ;) (btw, i needed to use cheats before i even finished the game. it simply got too boring after a while :p )

Oops, just when I realized i broke the rules, and was about to remove the dodgy link, the mods had done it for me.

Thanks, and sorry... It will never happen again! :sleeping:

Oh, I was typing /cg_drawfps 1

I guess I did not need the /

My frames are amasing :) I am running everyhting maxed 1024x768@32bit 75Hz (couse my monitor is flaky)

AA Quincinx, LOD -2, Aniso 4x, and my Frames are stuck at 99.

I guess it can go higher but I dont know how to set max FPS in JEdi 2. :)

com_maxfps 0

com_maxfps at the moment will be 85 just same as quake3 most of the commands are the same

any command yer no sure just press a letter then tab

most of the commands begin with

s = sounds and stuff

r = grafix stuff

cg = mostly viewing stuff and so on

after each letter when pressed tab ull get massive list in console for each 1

what score yeh get in 3dmark2001 with that system? :)
