chmsant
Divx baby!! As long as these DVDs are being copied for archival purposes only, i would recommend using DVD Shrink to make the image smaller, and then Divx to compress

Why are you going for divx? You could easily just use dvd shrink or nero recode to transcode the dvd from dvd9 to dvd5. Oh and you cant use winiso to make the iso. You need to rip the dvd before you can process it any further. Check out dvd decrypter. Like I said in my first reply. Check out doom9.org. They have many guides there for beginners and experts alike. Another thing. If you really do want to go from dvd to dvix/xvid. You don't need to use dvdshrink first. It actually doesn't make any sence at all to transcode then re encode to divx. Edited February 24, 2005 by Jaded1

Vice
I use DVD Decrypter + Dr Divx to convert my DVD's to .Avi (Xvid)
bfoos
So you basicaly just want to back up your dvd? If so, I recomend you just transcode to dvd5. It's fast and gives good results. You have to rip the dvd first though. Dvd's are protected by CSS (Content Scrambling System) and cant be processed without first ripping. Download DVDdecrypter and rip the dvd. Then you can run it through dvdshrink.
chmsant
you can use DVD Shrink to "reauthor" the dvd and shrink it to an ISO to begin with.... why use three steps when you only need two?

You still need to rip the dvd first to remove css unless you use one of those programs like anydvd or dvd region + css free in the background to bypass it. bfoos
More than likely you are getting crc errors because either the disc is dirty or it's damaged.
