aggrophobik Posted March 1, 2005 Share Posted March 1, 2005 I've recently went from component cables to DVI, and honestly, it's not that noticable of a diffrence. I have a 56" JVC HiDef widescreen. Some devices do digital output better than others and on those devices, the hdmi will definitely look better. But as new HD recording options come around have HDMI with HDCP will allow you to actually record something. Bottom line is don't worry much about what I said because these issues are more about political bullcrap than anything. But ya have to admit that is is an advantage of HDMI if it ever comes to play. LOL Damn Monster Cables) and to tell tha truth i don't see a diff between HDMI and Component. I have a Mitsubishi WS-48413 and this thing rox. I'll just be getting an HDMI cable from monoprice for cheap and using that instead since i definitely rather the 1 cable look. With my optical cables (xbox and hd dvr box) component (DVD) and subwoofer cable plus the other smaller 6 speaker cables (6.1 surrounds) then the mess of power cords i'm starting to hate cables! The simple fact that the human brain likes to filter out stuff most of those channels will be lost on the average.. I thought HD-DVD was gonna be more like 7.1. And for your question, i think HDMI cables could just because of the 1GB/s bandwidth but who knows... the picture signal prolly sucks up most of that now anyways. The cool thing about the Dolby codec it will use is that the audio is upsampled drastically. It will stream at 6mbps from the current 640kbps. That's awesome.
