Swiv 3D (Assault)

Recommended Posts

Hey

I recently wanted to play this agme again;

Swiv 3D Assault (assult was only added to the name in the US)

its from 1997 by Intervideo.

I can't run it under XP, it tells me that "thunkconnect32" wasn't found in kernel32.dll

Anyone have a solution?

I've done some google'ing and found some solutions, unfortunately, none of them work;

I've tried checking for viruses and updating my video drivers.

Swiv3D came with my Packard Bell PC back in 97/98, great fun.

Unfortunately, it is uncompatible with anything later than Windows 98SE, although ME might work. Sorry.

Right click on the EXE file, goto Properties, and then see if it has a compatability tab. If its a windows based game, you should be able to set the compatability mode for Windows 98, that should emulate the win98 kernel32.dll.

If its a dos game, you'll need to boot your computer into real dos with a boot disk from bootdisk.com, and run from there.

Thanks for all the replies.

But it still doesn't work, I've tried everything you suggested.

But I'll try Virtual PC, when I get the time, anyone here know if its good for emulating old OS's on new computers?

I can't believe no one but me has interest in this game, I really loved this game, surely there must some kind of damn patch out there (damn interplay).

I have an intense interest in this game. It was a part of my childhood growing up. Too bad it isn't as popular as it should be. Now I nhave my game working with DOsBox and Windows 8.1.

I have a queastion. On level3 Estuary Assault. Is there only 1 gun power up or are there two cause if there are two I really can't seem to find it ANYWHERE! Any help with this one will be appreciated.
