champagne_supernova
Hi, Do I ever need registry cleaner in Windows server 2003? If I would need one, which one is the most suitable? Cheers, C.S
John Veteran Posted May 23, 2005 Veteran Share Posted May 23, 2005 I would hope you wouldn't need one. Servers shouldn't be infected with spyware or have applications installed/uninstalled often at all.

JusticarMille
TuneUP utilities 2004 well updated works fine for me. (Event if I get a notification : Product is not mean to be used on...) Tested with no problems on x64, W2k3 Server and Longhorn. Just be carreful with the HDD cleaner, who will erase all the 0 bytes files of some server applications, like ARC Serve. Jason
I wouldn't trust any registry cleaners, clean up type programs etc on a Server.

MazX_Napalm
Rule #1 with Serer: When it is installed and working LEAVE IT ALONE. Rule #2: Make a full back up of the registry BEFORE making any changes to the Server. Infact make sure that you have backed up the system state (you do that every day with the daily backup - statement not question), AD,........ before installing ANYTHING. An image is even better. Rule #3: Leave the server alone its working just fine
Hankyone
there is no point on cleaning the registery, especially for a server
