Problem With Partition Magic

Question

When I tried to make a new partition for installing Linux in Partition Magic, I rebooted my PC and then it started to apply the changes and it stopped with the error message:

Error 983 while executing batch.

Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks alot.

Mike ;)

Did you do a scandisk before, to make sure your hard drive was healthy? Can you do one now?

I will try to do a scandisk later and I hope that would solve the problem. As for any boot time programs I don't think so because I have it down to AVG Free and Gaim loading up.

Well I tried doing a scandisk but it said that the volume was clean and it just finished and I did a defrag but it still has the same error. Anymore ideas? Thanks

Hmm well when it trys to apply the changes it tries to do them before I reach the logon screen. Does that help in anyway and also how would I boot a program like that?

...put in the boot floppies that it makes when installing the program.

I wouldn't trust it to run from windows, too many things can go wrong.
