Air India Flight Skids Of Runway

Recommended Posts

Air India flight AI127 carrying 330 passengers from Bangalore was heading to Chicago via Frankfurt skidded of runway 1432 at 7AM local Mumbai time, only the nose wheel was stuck in the mud.

The Air India Boeing 747-400 from Bangalore was delayed by 3 hours and when it came into Mumbai visibility was very low after holding for 40mins it started its approach, 1432 is the secondary runway as the main runway is flooded with water due to the monsoon rain in the past few days.

UPDATE: The Boeing 747-400 was approximately 500ft off the runway and some 10 - 15m away from the airport compound wall, also unlike runway 0927, 1432 is an instrument runway and the tailwinds did not help in the situation, no passengers were hurt.

Looks like I'm the first to report this on the Internet.

Well to be honest it's kind of a non-story. A nose wheel got stuck in the mud and no one got hurt...

In other news, I nearly fainted moments ago upon noticing I was out of beer. Seconds later I moved the milk and found another can. Calm was restored.
