The collected tax money would go to a fund to help police prosecute online child pornographers. The provision is part of the Internet Safety and Child Protection Act. In addition to the fund, the bill would require online pornographers to use age-verification software to block children's access. Carper says the bill will keep kids away from X-rated material. Please tell me that this is too ridiculous to pass. I don't think I need to point out the absurdity in the amount that they're proposing as well as the "reason" they think they should do this. Ohhh and anyone can get by the age verification system implemented in all of the porn websites. All it takes is one click. How do they think they can improve on it? And sadly the government feels it must compensate. You cannot make up for a lack of guidance and instruction in the home. But the tax idea isnt that bad.... If you can't find a way to ban it just tax the product to death. The tax will only punish the adult who acquires his porn legally. A enterprising child will just use his parent's credit card to verify his age. I would guess that if a person really wants to avoid that problem simply use in p2p software.
