Is Windows a virus?

Recommended Posts

No, Windows is not a virus. Here's what viruses do:

1.They replicate quickly - okay, Windows does that.

2.Viruses use up valuable system resources, slowing down the system as they do so - okay, Windows does that.

3. Viruses will, from time to time, trash your hard disk - okay, Windows does that too.

4.Viruses are usually carried, unknown to the user, along with valuable programs and systems. Sigh... Windows does that, too.

5.Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow (see 2) and the user will buy new hardware. Yup, that's with Windows, too.

Until now it seems Windows is a virus but there are fundamental differences: Viruses are well supported by their authors, are running on most systems, their program code is fast, compact and efficient and they tend to become more sophisticated as they mature.

So Windows is not a virus.

It's a bug.

1. They replicate quickly? That makes no sence. Unless you mean by the overly impressive amount of people that use Windows.

2. Windows doesn't use up valuable resources you noob. Other programs do.

3. As if other OS's don't?

4. Again, you make no sence

5. Again, Windows doesn't do that you noob.

What you need to do is take a computer course and learn exactly how an Operating System works before posting. You obviously have no grasp on what does what.

Flamebait is all you're looking for.

Erm...

1. Viruses self replicate. Windows doesn't.

2. I read the other day you can run windows on 64mb Ram...

3. OK, I'll give you that one...

4. You mean pre installed? I think that is stretching the definition slightly...

5. Erm...see 2

I just realised this is in jokes and funny stuff, so not serious. That's is a bit funny :) .

How can you agree with that!

1.) yes he probably does mean that.

2.) Wndows uses alot of valuable system resources, eplorer.exe? It's also written badly, you have to defrag your hard drive, which you don't have to in linux, and it insists on certain things (the first bit of cache on your processor and the necessity of swap space).

3.) No they don't

4.) I do have to agree with you there though, he did make no sense.

5.) Yes it does.

And the flamewar, yes, this is definately going into a very large one.
