Ironman273
I have a friend that is having a hard time viewing .nfo files on his Mac. What program can he use and where can he find it?
+BudMan MVC Posted September 9, 2005 MVC Share Posted September 9, 2005 .nfo files are just ascii text file - any text editor can read them..
Ironman273
I guess he was having a problem opening it up in a text editor. Forgive my Mac ignorance, but is there a way to "associate" the nfo files with the text editor? And I'm assuming that there is no specific .nfo viewer like Damn? +BudMan MVC Posted September 9, 2005 MVC Share Posted September 9, 2005 (edited) Dude if your friend does not know how to open a file with his favorite text editor - then maybe you should just tell him the computer is broken ;) And you need to take it back to your shop and fix it.. "Theres a light that doesnt light on one side" You'll fix it up there, and then bring it back. Return with an etch-a-sketch, and he will be none the wiser ;) What text editor does he use? I would be happy to point you to some instructions "with pictures" of course - so you can show him how to open a file with it. edit: here this might be of help http://www.publicspace.net/ABetterFinderCreatorsAndTypes/ Edited September 9, 2005 by BudMan
Vice
Just go to the Get Info menu of a .nfo file select open with tick the box always open with and select Text Edit.app Done. Steve Gosselin 1 Share
