OrangeSoul Posted September 22, 2005 Share Posted September 22, 2005 we heard anti global warming people saying during Katrina that this kind of hurricane always comes once in a decade so this is not the case of global warning but Now Rita has been upgraded to a category 5 and is expected to HIT at 5 unlike Katrina which hit at 4. So there is nothing backing up global warming as a problem for hurricanes yet. The only possibility is that it could be slightly raising gulf temperatures, but it isn't going to be that drastic. Many variables have to line up correctly to have storms like this to occur, and this is just a lucky (or rather unlucky) confluence of events. Chadwick Posted September 22, 2005 Share Posted September 22, 2005 heh, all i know is that after seeing "the day after tommorrow" it kinda makes you more aware about these things regardless of how far fetched what the movie showed was, but atleast people are starting to learn the hard way not to take hte risk of staying around and trying to weather hte storm..
