is Hurricane Rita ultimate proof of Global Warming

Recommended Posts

we heard anti global warming people saying during Katrina that this kind of hurricane always comes once in a decade so this is not the case of global warning but Now Rita has been upgraded to a category 5 and is expected to HIT at 5 unlike Katrina which hit at 4. It went from 100 mph winds to 170 mph in a matter of 10 hours.

No, there have been 2 others time in history when 2 Cat. 5s have hit in the same year. So there is nothing backing up global warming as a problem for hurricanes yet. The only possibility is that it could be slightly raising gulf temperatures, but it isn't going to be that drastic.

There are many factors involved in the formation of a hurricane, and global warming is only one of those. Many variables have to line up correctly to have storms like this to occur, and this is just a lucky (or rather unlucky) confluence of events.

CNN just reported Rita is now officially the third most intense hurricane in recorded history. and only a hurricane in 1930s had a lower pressure.

in recorded history: 75 years is a slice of time that's like a drop of water in a swimming pool compared to the age of the earth.

heh, all i know is that after seeing "the day after tommorrow" it kinda makes you more aware about these things regardless of how far fetched what the movie showed was, but atleast people are starting to learn the hard way not to take hte risk of staying around and trying to weather hte storm..
