Just started messing with WP8.1 on my Lumia 625

Must get a phone with a higher res screen

Edit: changed start screen background to match the lock screen, looks much better.

Something needs to be done about those skype and onenote icons though :/

I use Hot Tiles! to make them transparent  ;) .

My ATIV S running WP8.1 GDR1, living in the UK and finally being able to use Cortana is awesome.

Home & Lock widget: Chronus

Weather icons: Plex Weather Icons

Wallpaper: Modded CM11 wallpaper

Music: Queens of the Stone Age

I went back to Windows Phone for a time. It's way better than when I last left it at Windows Phone 7.8.

I got the Lumia 1520 (Hulk Green) and I love it. A bit too big, but with my eyes starting to age, the bigger screen helps. One of the things that bothered me about this upgrade experience is that, like, I understand that a lot of people don't want a Windows Phone, so that's why the stores don't carry any, well the 1520 that I know of, in stock (even though it's featured on a large display near the front door). But if you do want a Windows Phone, they asked if you've even had one, and if you say no, they try to sell you on something else. If you go through with the deal, it's "Oh, we don't have it in stock. We'll mail it to you!"

But I want it nowwwww.

Design wise, I'm really not happy with Windows Phones new folders.

While they add much needed functionality, they make the start screen much more cluttered.

If we could designate one icon, or the live tile from one app, to be the main/only thing shown for each folder, it could be a lot cleaner, and less resource intensive.

I don't even want to post a screenshot, it's a ####### mess :/
