xerox
Well, I've got news for ya guys. I'm from Norway (the home of the maker of DeCSS). In Norway it is: - Not illegal to make a copy of a movie (from TV/video/DVD) or musical piece (from radio/CD) for private use. *It is only illegal if it is made to make profit, or if the copies are made publicly available. - Not illegal to download/borrow/recieve as gifts, copies of movies or musical pieces if it is only meant for private viewing/listening. *It is only illegal if you pay for it, although you cannot be charged for it if you do. This ONLY applies to pre-recorded movies/music, not to bootleg recordings from concerts/movie theaters. Those are completely illegal to make, own or share. http://www.lovdata.no/all/tl-19610512-002-004.html (this is in norwegian) (another thing, it is not illegal to modify hardware, to make DVD players zone free and so on. and it is not illegal to modify software, as long as it is not done to perform illegal activities.)
