neoxphuse
I agree, the media is all about BS. This is a worthy cover page news. All these rich stars should really try to do something and help people out.

Nexus
I thought this was cool, so I thought I'd post it. Don't know whether you heard about this but Denzel Washington and his family visited the troops at Brook Army Medical Center, in San Antonio,Texas (BAMC) the other day. This is where soldiers that have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the States, especially burn victims. They have buildings there called Fisher Houses. The Fisher House is a hotel where soldiers' families can stay, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base but as you can imagine, they are almost completely filled most of the time. While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how much one of them would cost to build. He took his check book out and wrote a check for the full amount right there on the spot. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear this story and want to get the word out to the American public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it. The question I have is why does Alec Baldwin, Madonna, Sean Penn and other Hollywood types make front page news with their anti-everything America crap and this doesn't even make page 3 in the Metro section of any newspaper except the base newspaper in San Antonio. JAbad28
Yeah, I was trying to post like 10 minutes ago but the flood control wouldn't go away, anyways... Yeah this is very nice of a very wealthy person to do, the reason it doesn't get frontpage is because 1. The news is about BS 2. They think bad stories will please the public. But yes... Great job by Denzel!!! Now all the other stars gotta do is follow his steps.
MGOB
I live on a USAF base and i hear a lot of sad stories about soldiers and stuff but this is really nice to hear and you have to give Denzel all the praise in the world for his ungodly generous donation, good to see we have still have some hollywood types that do care enough to do something that large. Dark Reaper
Good job, Denzel. Why can't people be as generous as him. The reason why crap appears on the cover is because there's more controversy involved. And that usually gets more readers. It all comes down to money. Nexus
As far as I know, you cannot donate to the military ... 586747498 No, not directly. But I believe there are organizations within that you can donate to that assist members. Like, ACS (Army Community Services) or something like that. DELTA75329
Liberal media? Anyway, very generous of Denzel! (Y) (Y) 586747481 I think the media being liberal is a large part of it, but then controversy sells a lot more than feel-good stuff. It's not just the media - it's the audience. The media's catering to the masses like any good business would do. I just wish that the price of what the media does was limited to dollars only. All the same, I like Denzel's movies. Now I know something about the man and I have to say I like that too.

DELTA75329
You know.. I don't wanna rain on the parade here - especially since I'd really like for this story to be true - but I have reason to believe it's not. I wanted to make mention of this on my blog and maybe even forward to a talk radio show or two. But I was not able to find a corroborative story. Instead, I found something else. Check this out: http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/denzel.asp http://www.dcmilitary.com/army/pentagram/1...ws/37447-1.html Sorry.. I definitely want to spread the word on anything that makes America look good, but I want to be correct about it too. At least the story is partially true, so I'll take that over nothing.
