We have found someone to help us with some core configuration issues on our 4 servers, he was working through the night and first glance this morning shows that we have made progress already.

Whats your opinion?

The forums seem to be of a decent speed now, but the front page is painfully slow. At this end at least it's even worse than it was yesterday unfortunately.

It's slower than it used to be but quicker than it was at first after the upgrade so I voted it's slower as I assume that is what is meant rather than "it's slower" than it was before you tweaked it.

Slower... took 1 minute 3 seconds to ad my vote to this pool  Do something

EDIT: Posting & browsing is ok (Not the best)... just the main page and pool that are out of time

Front page loads in about a third of the time required for forum pages. At least here... and that shouldn't really be different for anyone else. Buuuut... sorry, it's slower than usual.

Is a lot better than the old Neowin servers for me now.

Comes down in bursts for me if you know what I mean, but is a good improvement.

Edit........

I think another way of putting it is the speed acceptable?

The way it?s performing at the moment I am happy with, you just can?t expect a site like Neowin to have the server equipment a big site like MSN.com or something like that. Its going to get congested now and then.

Could the slowness be related to something beyond your control?

Something in your hosting company a link or a router somewhere.

wow it really is slow - the smilies take ages, the css takes a while to load (I almost get FOUC - although everything seems to be that slow that I am unable to tell)

The front page seems to load really slow, as it loads all the images - are they stored externally or on the same server as the IPB install?

I'd be quite concerned (If I owned the site) - that I was paying for four servers, and the whole site seems slower that if it was running on a 486..

Just my 1$/1p :shifty:
