dheaddy
I was wondering what people's thoughts were on software such as Picasa for organising and navigating through photos. I'm reaching a stage where navigting through explorer is becoming unmanagable. I've used Picasa in the past and found it pretty quick and intuitive but I was wondering if anyone had tried Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0. My only concern is that the Adobe software would be bloated compared to the free google equivalent. Has anyone tried both of them? Cheers
Brandon
Personally I use orginize my photos by event, such as "Sox Game 09-07-05" in folders
Silverity
If you like picasa why switch? It's free, and pretty nice for organising, I've used it on my windows machine, until I got aperture for my mac.

Galley
Photoshop Album is great for organizing, but it's a crappy viewer. ACDSee is the best of both worlds. http://www.acdsystems.com/

IanD
Try Photo Mechanic. It's awsome and works with Adobe Photoshop if you have that. Also if you have PS, the browser that's built in works well.

V0b0
bridge is good, but it eats ram and takes way too long to setup into the workflow. anyone know any good programs of the above that doesn't kill the resources?
Bonbon
Personally, I find myself always going back to Microsoft's Digital Image Library (which is part of the Digital Image Suite). Bridge takes too long to open and doesn't have a great image organisation system in comparison to MS Digital Image Library. The great thing is that I can change the image editor in the options so I'm not tied to a specific editor (such as MS Digital Image Editor). You can download a trial version from the MS site - the latest version is Digital Image Suite 2006.
