MulletRobZ
Schie?en Sie los! Are the XSane developers idiots? Wheni I tried to use XSane, I end up with a message saying that no devices were found. Well hullo! "/usr/bin/sane-find-scanner" found the scanner and when I checked SANE's site, I found that the HP ScanJet 2200c (my scanner) works with the version of SANE that I got, version 1.0.8. But I believe I found how XSane screwed up. When I checked the backend, my scanner doesn't use the hp backend, but rather the plustek backend. So, how am I supposed to get this sonofagun working in Linux? The backends are already included. This would be crucial to me in my elimination of Windows (on my computer) process. MulletRobZ
Never mind! I just got XSane working by some wild command. But for those of you who have troubles with your USB scanners, just modify the XSane shortcuts to read this: usr/bin/xsane (backend name):/dev/usb/scanner0 or usr/bin/xsane (backend name):/dev/usbscanner You can get the information on what backend your USB scanner uses by going to http://www.mostang.com/sane/sane-backends.html .
