xpwhittyx
What kind of wireless adapter should I get for my 360? I know mircrosoft has one, but it's like $100.
NeoTrunks
I had no idea there were others. It would be nice to have, but I don't have a need for the adaptor (yet). But as long as you're able to find a 3rd party one at a place with a good return policy, I'd say go for it.
dnast
I've only seen one 3rd party USB wireless adapter for the 360. They have it at my local Best Buy so I'm guessing it's at others.
xpwhittyx
what abotu an ethernet based adapter? I'm not really looking for one specfically for the 360, just one that would work with the 360 and is cheaper than the microsoft one.
Trong
The 360 one is going to work best unless Linksys came out with a new adapter. It came out late enough so it supports any type of WPA. You could always use the old Xbox wireless adapter but it doesn't support WPA 1/2. Linksys has their game adapter and so does MS.

Salohcine
Over here in the UK its ?60 for the wireless adaptor and I would say it was well worth it, It clips onto the back of the 360 neat and tidy, even follows the curve and you have a small usb cable to connect it to as it clips right next to the usb socket on the back. You cant even see if the antenna is down. So far on 7 different wireless networks it has connected to all of them no problem, 2 of which used WEP keys. It is very good for the money and is first party for the 360 and I have learnt from previous experiences always stay first party.
slysy
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1099384406381 Any opinons on that linksys? I have something very similar and it works great, but doesn't support WPA. Is WPA important for you? If so that narrows your search down a lot. I think the linksys WET54G does support WPA, but has a pretty horrible customer rating on amazon.
magik
I'm sure that Linksys one will work just fine, but the origional Microsoft Wireless Adapter will definitely work better. That being said, however, you do not need to shell out $100 for the (admittedly overpriced) Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter, in fact, the origional Microsoft Xbox (1) Wireless Adapter works just fine with the Xbox 360 and is considerably cheaper! I use it with my 360 and it works just as well as it did on the original Xbox. You can usually find it for pretty cheap on eBay. Only drawback is that it doesn't support the 802.11a band, just the 802.11b and 802.11g. But if you don't have an 802.11a Wireless Router then it won't matter anyhow. Good luck! bdsams Veteran Posted August 2, 2006 Veteran Share Posted August 2, 2006 I am doubting this will happen soon though. Possibly a silent rollout if they do it this soon. Otherwise it will most likely wait until January-ish. i went a different route...i bought a $4.00 cross over cable and attach my 360 to my MCE pc that has wireless....all you have to do is turn on ICS on your pc and your good to go....or if you have easy acess to hooking up a laptop as well; but it works for me and i saved $96.
ienhz
I got a Logitech Playlink set off ebay for like $30 CDN. Great deal, only minuses are that you can't turn it off (besides unplugging the cord) and I think the maximum speed is only 1.5mbps.
