Bla, I've had it with all those subscriber only betas...

I wonder how much are the developers/publishers payed for those exclusive betas.

Probably not as much as you think it is :|

It is not really that exclusive as the beta has been going on for weeks now.

What beta is that? The closed beta no one could get into perhaps? :p

I've been in the closed beta since... July 15th. Do I get the game free? They never told me... Anyway, it's a nice game, great effects if you ask me :p.

Ok, tried it...

It looks and plays fantastic... when it does.

~5 minutes of loading time, 998 mb ram, and 1.6 gb swap file usage (normal win usage: 350 ram, 200 swap), stutters every 10 sec, and US-only servers are a big let down.

The single-player demo ran great on my computer, so I really fail to see what's the huge issue in multiplayer... Hope they drastically decrease the memory requirements until the final release...

My specs:

AthlonXP 2800+ @ 2200mhz

2x 512 DDR 400

ATI x1600pro - 256 MB

I got the Open Gamespot Beta now, but can't play it :|

The level loading just stops at around 75% or so and that is it..

Don't worry, you're not the only one having that problem. :(

It's the stupid Source engine and its arcitechture. All Source games suffer from stutter and GBs of RAM usage.

Haven't had problems with HL2, CS:S, Episode 1, or the M&M singleplayer demo (ok, only the sound stutter issue)

Care to elaborate your claim?

I love the source engine, but i am hating it on this Beta lol! I play CS:S, HL2, DOD and all run no problems, load within seconds dnt have any sound problems! I run M&M beta....takes 5+ mins to load and once i finally get in it sorta jutters for a bit when the man talks at the start but i dnt really mind that! Its the loading and reeeeeeeally annoys me!!

For me (1 GB for now), the demo ran quite fine, just long loadings. The was a little stuttering at first, but it was so good, I kinda didn't really noticed it. I'll check the beta tonight, and see how it runs.
