5 years ago to this day Microsoft released Windows XP. :) So what has changed in the windows world since then? Nothing, XP is still MS's latest OS.

Mad really, I was only 15 years old at the time and was still in secondary school.

Five years, longest gap between two Microsoft OSs I believe.

Interesting as I purchased a computer with xp home installed on it in September 2001 so me thinks it's older.

Maybe the 25th October 2001 is the retail store release date.

I remember I was in best buy around that time. over half the other PCs had Windows ME, but there was this one that had XP and at first i didnt knoiw what it was, with the luna UI and everything then i red the card and it said Windows XP home edition preinstalled.

So the OEM might have gotten it out sonner.

It's been a really long time and XP is still stable as a rock :o I wish the same for Vista.

Me too.

But eh, happy birthday XP. I will probably be enjoying many more years with you. :cake:
