PS3 = Particularly Prone to Getting Dusty?

We noticed this a bit with our PlayStation 3, but Ashcraft lives in Hokori, Japan, where you order Kobe Steak with a side of dust sticks and some mashed dust and a dust salad. Apparently the incredibly shiny and scratch friendly surface of the PS3 is also incredibly dust-attractive. As you can see from the picture, the Sandman must have undressed around that console cause you can now barely make out the PS3 logo under all that dust. Better store this baby in a hermetically sealed cabinet.

Bashing the PS3 seems to be the flavour of the year...I hate reading about it. Especially all the crazy fanboyism related to everything surrounding the PS3, its a MACHINE get over it. If you don't like it, stop talking about it.

I agree, the bashing and the fanboys here is getting really stupid.

something wrong with that picture .. first of all dust settles evenly .. and the picture clearly shows un-evenly spaced dust particles, secondly .... no matter how dusty that place is, there is no way in hell it would attract that much dust unles that object is static, which could be attributed to the carpet, but none the less every time you touch the ps3 you discharge it ... so i guess this qualifies as newin news ... good job ... (am actualy trying to get more posts count)

1) It's not news, that's why it's not in BPN or on the front page

2) I hope that the whole fanboy thing is a general statement and not directed at me. I have never owned a console and never will own one in my life. Look at the two other threads I posted in this section. One 'good' news and the other 'bad'.

3) I found the picture and article particularly drastic, so I posted the thread. If you guys can't laugh it off, and almost take it personally, then

I guess this thread needs to be moved to the Jokes section, I hope a mod moves it.

Wow. Somebody give this guy a box of wetnaps or something. This doesn't even appear to be fake since there's a lot less dust on the power and eject buttons. I wonder what his TV looks like. :|

Wow...all you Sony fans retaliating at this are idiots. I don't see this article as bashing the PS3 at all. It's pointing out something rather humorous. Most of you have pointed out that dust is pretty harmless, hence why there'd be no reason for the article to be bashing the PS3. Not a single person, Xbox fan, OP, editor for the article, etc said anything about this making the PS3 any better or worse, you guys did that yourself.

/edit - I assumed gizmodo was where the article came from, but it was actually kotaku, which does bash the PS3 for this, but we all know how Kotaku feels about the PS3 and I don't think that should count against gizmodo or slimy or anyone else here.

Laugh once ffs.
