uniacid
not sure since mandrake 9 for me has been different than 8, I don't really like mandrakes partitioner, Red Hat's Druid is much better :) more clearer, last time I installed Mandrake 9 I got confused also and it ended up making my HD a linux partition but I fixed that :)
trpn
what kind of install did you select? expert or reccomended? i haven;t installed mandrake in a while so i can't remember about the partitioning tool too much. did you look at the demo section on the mandrake site? it is actually quite easy to follow http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/demos/Dem...s/install8.php3 click on expert or recommended ... whichever one you used and it will show you
squiggy
try this, when you select the partition that you want ,press the Auto Allocate button that should set up the root, home, and swap partitions for you.then all you should have to do is press the done button.at least this is the way i did it with mandrake 8.1. good luck. (remember, nothing changes until you press the done button)

squiggy
I never had any problems doing it this way,I have XP and Mandrake on the same hard drive, but then again i'm fairly new to Linux myself,so maybe i just got lucky doing it this way,i dunno.
