changing resolution?

Recommended Posts

I downloaded the Yoper ISO last night, burned it this mornin, installed it this afternoon... Install went fine, I booted up and the resolution must be at like 800x600 by default, in the past ive always depended on the graphical installations to ask me for resolution, but now I have no idea how to change it, so could anyone tell me how please? :D thx

read thru the INI file... or sometimes there's a seperate CONFIG.EXE file.. look for that but i suspect the config file is what you'll find.

INI and EXE files in linux? uh no... lol :p

Got this off Yoper.com forum:

As root, open /etc/X11/XF86Config and find the section that says "DefaultDepth". Lets assume this section says '16', then go to the below section that says "Depth 16". The line below this section should say 'Modes "1024x768"'. If it does not say that than add it. Restart X pressing CTRL-Backspace. If you want to have 24bit colours than change the 16 to 24 and add the modes section to 'Depth 24'. If you want to have a different resultion change the value that says 1024x768.

lol I'm too lazy to type it out myself...
