I wonder how many of the 165,000 sold ended up on Ebay?

Probably none. There're plenty of them on stores, who would want to get one on ebay?

I'm just scared thousand of Englands spending 599 euros on this :o

We 'Englands' dont use Euros, we have proper money here.

And from what I understand it was way more than 599.

I'm really sceptical about this, something doesn't sound right. With the midnight turn out and boxes apon boxes of PS3's, it really questions how many consoles were really sold.

Ah, yet another one who hasn't understood the concept of "Plenty in stock".

I have an idea, lets be an asshat to everyone who has their own opinion on the subject.

I say congrats to Sony, but they still need to play massive catch-up in the largest territory of all where they're on the brink of not even breaking 100k in a given month just 4 months after launch.

Uh, no. Based on all of those launch pictures, there's a heck of a great reason to be skeptical. I'm personally not, but it's not like anyone who wants to be is out of line.

Yet you do believe that the picture of what 2 or 3 launches is what happened all over the country?

Hmm.. whats that - coffee? Do you smell it? Wake up man.

My post clearly says I'm not skeptical and therefore I don't believe that, but it is out there for others to make their own decisions on.

Awesome News! This is good for Sony. The more consoles they sell the more money they make back the faster the price drop comes :)

keep in mind that you can't base everything on the midnight launch. maybe people just didn't want to freeze their butts off in the cold and had the patience to wait until the morning to get their consoles. they had the patience to wait a few more months, so a couple of hours wouldn't have hurt. it may not have been the most successful midnight launch, but you can't conclude that the ps3 is a failure just because of those launch pictures...so these numbers could have some actual truth in them.

*puts on flame retardant suit*

I too have a hard time believing this. Especially after all the "it's far too much" talk.

Must be one of the few console launches where supply outstripped demand though.
Even Tesco were forced to advertise they had them in stock, which is unusual.
