Circaflex
Im gonna install redhat linux 8.0 and is it like mandrake when you install do i need to know my ip and that stuff? what do i definitely need to know to install it successful the first time? Also My computer consists of two harddrives, one that is split to C, and E then one that is D and F C,D,E are windows partions and i need those can i install onto F only? its like 10 gigs so plenty of space? Or will i just have to use the whole "d" drive and only have C and E for windows? Edited December 15, 2002 by Circaflex
Deron Dantzler
Format 'F' with a linux partition and use it if you like...
timmmay
if your F: is already a windows partition, then delete it and make it a linux partition and use one of the bootloaders, either lilo or grub i think (u can do all this through the redhat setup). you will still be able to access your other partitions through linux but while in windows your linux partition will be invisible

slapnuts_ox
actually I recomend using ext3. It is much better then ext2.
K-LineD
I think that partition magic 7 doesn't support ext3 don't know about pm8 and that's what kept me away of ext3 but I heard it's better. Don't know in what sense really.
warr
well. I installed using ext2. and then convert to ext3. if i really need partition magic, then i can convert back. it is not as troublesome as you imagine. Just a command and a reboot solves all of your doubts.
