ibook speakers

Recommended Posts

does anyone here think that the speakers on the ibook are too quiet? i always have to plug in my headset now so i would be able to hear music being played on the ibook at a reasonable rate, i know its a computer built mainly for people on a budget (and need a laptop for school), but if i got a 4.1 speaker set (and splitter), would the 4.1 speakers be alot louder?

thanx

I find the iBook speakers just loud enough but thats with the volume on full. Any quieter and it would be a problem...

btw.. this is my first post with my new iBook as i listen to internet radio on iTunes :D

I find them pretty quiet as well, and they also seem quieter since jaguar, i never noticed thm being quiet when using 10.1, and often didn't even need to have them on full. Now under jaguar i have them on full volume all the time, except when using headphones.

i was playing itunes a bit on os9 (dont ask :p), and it seemed loud enough for me, and one of my teachers has an ibook and he plays music in class most of the time (he uses os9) and i can hear the ibook playing out in the hallway if the door is open..thats pretty loud, but on my ibook on osx.2, i need my headphones to be able to enjoy the sound, on my pc my speakers would usually be 2x louder than the ibook speakers

well, I could hear the dialog of "Goldmember" while sitting in a little building next to an idlling 747 with all 4 engines going, so I'd say the iBook speakers are good enough for me.

Before you ask, it's part of my job.

when i was watching the movie "almost famous" on my ibook, i could barely hear it :(, even at the loudest volume it can go.

but one of the main things on my xmas list (has been for some time) is a set of 4.1 speakers and a splitter
