Ok, so anyone know why we can't download the Acrobat module from anywhere? All the links are dead.......

^ That link is down because we spent a lot of bandwidth of our site, so it had to be pulled out.

I'm now testing a new package that has several of the Stand-Alone modules: 7-Zip, CCleaner , Foobar 2000, HashTab, Paint.NET and Unlocker. It should work in any June and future July ENU, PTG and PTB release. You can download it here.

Thanks for the info. Looking all over the web for this module last week drove me nuts.

I believe the Reader module would be among the most valuable and sought after, hence probably the bandwidth demand. I am looking to see if I can host it. What would be its size, and was the bandwidth draw ghastly; (will my ISP boot me, too?)

In the meantime, what about a possible solutions like a free public file hosting service with unlimited download bandwidth and potentially unlimited time, such as http://www.zonderfiles.com? I have not actually checked out this particular one, but have used files-upload.com, and have liked that well. Although not as elegant as a private server, could this work?

Also, if filehippo and majorgeeks, etc., host regular full and update releases, would they consider hosting stand-alone modules, as well? Perhaps some of the mirrors, maybe? They might make good torrents, [though I am amazed at how few seed].

I would guess Reader would be hot, but the others would be useful to many, also. Maybe you do not need to put this on your private box, and in so doing, it might again be available to the evidently wide population with demand.

I am going to check out the zonderfile thing as it looks like that might be useful for other things, too, but maybe it will help here as an alternative approach.

I know I do not have many posts. I am grateful for the creation and hosting of the modules and for the many contributions that make all of AutoPatcher possible and so useful to us all. Thanks for that and for your consideration of this idea.

Links fixed:
- Adobe Reader
- AVG 7.5

Now the modules will work with the new June and onwards versions.

Hi, Adobe Reader 8.1 does not appear to work with AutoPatcher July (with June DirectX, July Extras, July Standalone). Below is the log.

Attempting to initialize common controls.

AutoPatcher 5.6 loaded the filesystem.

Has this happened to others, or am I the only one.

PS, I note that the installer says Portuguese, but Stand Alone modules also claimed this though download links on first post claim ENU - don't know whether this is what my problem is or not.

Thanks.

Well, please try again. And notice, it will be shown in "Extras" tree.

Updated Adobe Reader 8.1 and added Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.5.

The AVG, Standalone(both) and TBird installers still show PTG, haven't ran them to see if they'll crash APXP again. Adobe and FF show English and work fine.

Edit: Fixed AVG 7.5 and Thunderbird 2.0.0.4 en-US.

Hey, sorry about taking so long to get back to you, but I've been swamped. As you probably already know, the modules are now all working as expected. Cool.

Just one query though, and in no way a complaint; why is Adobe Reader not is its redistributable form (about 23MB as opposed to 92MB).
Maybe a stupid question, but thought I might as well ask.

P.S. For some reason this module only works for me if the folder name is Hashtab.apm_files and not Hashtab_Files (and the 64 bit version) any ideas?

(In the extras package the folders are named Hashtab_files)

Whatever happend with my two favorites in the Stand-Alone Module section - Argument Runner & dll & ocx self registration by A. Kaladis / nw_raptor?

I tried to use the originals, that didn't work very well, especially not on Vista, so I really hope updates are planned.

Thanks in advance,

Just a quick Q. about:
AVG Anti-Virus Free 7.5 (module by matkay521225)

I noticed that once installed the Autoscan Task is enabled (default setting on install of AVG).
Is their way to stop this task being installed ? (ie de-select run auto scan tick box during install)

I realize it's a matter of just going into the AVG settings and stopping the task from auto starting
(as remove the task is Not possible once installed by default)

But when there are lots of computers this gets tiresome (poor me!)

Anyway just a question.

Regards,
Kim
