Tran
OK I have this problem and I know how to fix it: Preparing to install... Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive... Configuring the installer for this system's environment... No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH environment variable. You must install a VM prior to running this program. I know you have to open up the /etc/profile and add the bunch of lines to it but I don't know what lines. Can someone help me? Thanks.
Tran
Ok I found out what lines to add but currently the profile is read-only. I need t change its permission so I can mod. Can anyone give me a guide on doing so?
Hatter
Do you have a Java VM installed? If you do, the env variables should already be setup so I don't think you do. You can download one from sun or blackdown. I use the latter. -Hatter
Tran
I have Java 1.4.1 installed on my computer but for some reason Limewire won't install. I've got this whole think figured out but I just need to know how to edit the profile in /etc but thanks for the tip anyway.
