Usually the recommended specs are the playable minimum requirements. I guess this game has some massive textures in it if they recommend 512 MB VRAM.

Man I need money to upgrade my computer. I doubt my computer will be able to play this. I'll give it a try anyways when the demo comes out. ;)

grrr @ need for activation, bugs me that games are starting to do this. I reformat my system every 6/12 months and it's already annoying to deal with the OS. I don't want to have to ring up 5/6 different game companies as well!

I might just get the 360 version :/

min of 8600 for Dx10? that is a joke, 8600GTS (the highest 8600) chokes running basic Dx10 demos and can't even handle Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions Dx10 demo in a window...a more realistic min would be a 8800GTS absolute min. However, the 8600 series cards should handle Bioshock fine in Dx9 mode though :)

This thing was made for multi-core processors. I'm not sure if it utilizes two or four, though. Regardless, I'm picking up a quad core for this and other games to come (Crysis, Alan Wake).

My 8800GTS 640 is ready, though.

hmm some sreas i meet but i think my processor will kill me on this title

I hope the 320 MB 8800 GTS suffices :/

Hmm..

i'm sporting a 2gig ram, geforce 7900 GT 256MB and intel dual core E6300 (1.86ghz)

should be ok to run it but no way on full textures etc, may be time to start thinking about upgrade...

Am I the only one with an HD2900XT? lol. I'll be trying this on a Q6600 (@2.8Ghz), 2GB RAM, HD2900XT 1GB ... hopefully I can get full settings.

Pointless/waste of money at the moment eh?

You are probably right, I don't think any games take advantage of anything over 512MB, but I just got it for future proofing - although my dreams were crushed when they announced DX10.1 would require new hardware, lol.

I just hope I get decent settings with Bioshock (because of the issues people have been having with DX10 titles with the new ATI cards).
