Multi-player online gaming console the way of the future

Recommended Posts

Well it seems now that with the next gen consoles out, computers have taken a tremendous hit. Most if not all bad ass game titles are now reserved for one of the 3 systems. PC gaming is definitely taking a nose dive with not many promising titles coming forward AND the required CONVERSION to VISTA for many future games.

It seems to me that if your looking for Multi player action Xbox 360 is the way to go, out of the 3 it has the best online community and bang for your buck.

I guess all comp has left is WoW.

From a design stand point it makes since this would happen its much easier to design a game around a persons console than the avg persons computer.

The PC has fewer games overall but they are generally long-lasting. CS has been out for god knows how long and it's still one of the most played PC games. RTSs like C&C3 and M2TW only work on well on PCs which is another bonus. With consoles only a select few remain popular for so long - Halo, GoW, R6V, and probably CoD4 (note how those are shooters and not driving games) - because most games are singleplayer with a half-assed attempt at a multiplayer stuck on to fill up the disk.

Although I think people are sick of hackers on PC games as well as having to upgrade their PC every few months and comply with Microsoft's ever-tightening requirements to play newer games on Windows, which I think are the main reasons why online console gaming has become more popular.

PC gaming isn't dying, it's just that console is catching up real good. But keep in mind that the consoles lifecycle is usually a couple of years, so by the time we reach 2010, the PC graphics is probably way superior.

Arent Intel Developing the CPU which tracks the signal it recieves from the mouse, and the actual input that goes into the game, so that noone will be able to aimbot (if they have this certain CPU) because it will send the real signal instead of the fake one. Also it can stop other hacks like speedhack and stuff. But its a bit late for it now, because all the hackers will surely just not buy a new CPU...

pc gaming isn't dead, more then anything in shambles with hardware revisions, microsoft screwing round with directx on a more frequent basis and whatnot else where as consoles are all here now and are in solid stone for their future road maps pretty much with a lot of head room to develop also. But on the other hand, with things like UT3 on ps3 to support keyboard and mouse they could quite possibly lead consoles to be dominant form if they start supporting pc aesthetics which are the notorious favorites to holding pc gamers mainly ie: mouse keyboard. but pc gaming will always have a hand in the market no matter what i believe and would be better if the market was more solid with standardizing hardware AND software which somehow leads me to think openGL has a brighter future then directx on linux and mac os and possibly windows due to it's openess and more stable standardizing and less frequent changes also more openness when developing rather then laziness. Just like steam/valve are treating directx 10 and sticking to 9.0c for a lengthy period.
