fnglazz
Hi all A few weeks ago I brought an 8800 GTS, but my Athlon 64 4000+ seems to be a big bottleneck. I was going to upgrade to a dual core 3800+, but then wondered if it was worth doing that with my motherboard being kinda old, and that maybe I should get a new motherboard and processor (Intel Core 2 Duo). So....is the Asus P5N-E a good motherboard? (Im looking for a mobo within the ?70 - 100 price range) And would the E6750 or E6600 be a good justified upgrade over the Athlon 64 4000+? (Baring in mind I use my PC mainly for gaming)

fnglazz
Ok thanks for the advice. Im wondering if I should stick with ATi and get the Athlon X2 6000 (or something similar) or go down the Intel route

chconline Veteran Posted September 20, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 20, 2007 Don't get the P5N-E SLI, I used to own one. Used it for 2 days, and back to the closet :p
Rogue`
I can whole heartedly recommend the MSI P35 FR motherboard, and its only ?71 from scan.co.uk
chconline Veteran Posted September 20, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 20, 2007 For that price range I would recommend an Asus P5K, or P5K-E if within budget. I can't recommend MSI myself, their quality and service has been a disappointment for years :(
