Badie05 Posted November 1, 2007 Share Posted November 1, 2007 Lots of people are complaining about the difficulty of the "beast" I haven't gotten this far...fighter the spider thing (name starts with a d) anyways...the patch 1.1a makes that scenario easier and fixed the loading times and almost a lot of initial game releases. I had tried this at first - but seemed like I was getting hit with Pain every couple of seconds and getting stunned. Had read another forum with another strat and thats why I kept failing. Rogue` Posted November 1, 2007 Share Posted November 1, 2007 I had difficulties with the Beast as well....until the last attempt I used one of them powers and knocked it over, then stabbed it with my sword.... I am stuck on Chapter 5 atm, i've had to lower my resolution and game detail due to the amount of enemies on screen :/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I had a biotch of a time with the Beast encounter the first time I hit it because I didn't have a Swallow potion or any blade enhancement other than diamond dust. I re-started the game from when I first entered the Outskirts of Vizima and made sure to read the book on gathering herbs, and also selected the ability to create oils in the Hero abilities - those two things are very important. Then when you fight the Beast, you only need two potions active - Swallow, and Spectre Oil on your sword. Blizzard may help too, but having Swallow and Spectre Oil will make the Beast fight VERY easy. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I killed it quick, and also reload just to see what ending will I get if I choose a different story option and killed it again as quick as before. What you just have to do (which is kinda cheating), is to use your Aard sign (the stun magic) on it until it's "stunned" and click one to deliver a killing blow.. no potions needed. Osiris Posted December 5, 2007 Share Posted December 5, 2007 yep, The two most sucessful strategies for the beast are: 1. Use Aard to stun him and then kill in one blow. This relies on him being stunned so may take a cpl aard attempts/reloads or you may get it first go 2. Use the Blizzard potion and hack away or hack and aard. I cannot street the blizzard potion enough. Without a doubt the games uber potion and you get it so early on (at least on normal diff) Combine it with a swallow potion and you're a one man wrecking machine.
