werwolf
set it up through the GUI, its like printer config or something like that, under extras or perhaps system tools, not sure, sorry, i guess this isnt much help, ill add more accurate directions once on linux, if someone doesnt beat me to it, but, yeah, a mainstream printer like a lexmark z42 should be autodetected and just waiting for you to to select it and then choose a driver for it, then youre good to go
techquilla
i configured it using the redhat printer configuration tool....and everything seems to be ok, except that i cannot print anything...
chavo
Try using cups instead of lpr. I got that printer running under Mandrake 9.0 with no problems using cups.

chavo
I got it working during the install, by picking cups drivers instead of lpr. Then picking the included lexmark driver. Keep in mind this was Mandrake, but there should be rpm's for cups on your CD's.
mr_daemon
I beleive that in redhat there is something called "Printing system switching tool" or something to that effect in the system menu ;) Switch to CUPS, it might fix it. However, LPR worked for me at work since the printers were all DirectJet ones.
