The_Decryptor Veteran Posted January 12, 2008 Veteran Share Posted January 12, 2008 By the time it merges with our galaxy, Smith's cloud will strike a region some distance from the location of our Solar System, about 90 degrees ahead of us in the disc of the Milky Way. Yeah, won't be effecting us.

ATLien_0
whats cool though, i learned this in astronomy last year is that that picture since its 40,000 light years away, that means we are looking at a picture of the gas from 40,000 years ago because of how long it takes the light to reach us

Lt-DavidW
Quiet you :shiftyninja: I always get those words confused :pinch: Use 'affect' when you're describing one thing causing another. Use 'effect' when you're decribing the causes themselves. Example: The effects of global warming affect climate.
