KeeperOfThePizza
Ok so say both alcoholic beverages are both 80 proof.. why does whiskey hit me so much easier? I dont really get that. example, jim bean vs smirnoff red label
timmmay
Simply put, Whiskey is better :D
Konstanov
Good Vodka is better than Whiskey every single time, try some Stolichnaya Gold it's about 75 a bottle so you may want to buy a few shots at a bar to try it first. And I assume Whiskey is easier on you because of the different fermenting techniques used with Whiskey and Vodka.
KeeperOfThePizza
Thats weird, whiskey seems to hit me pretty easily, which was dont understand cause theyre both the same alocohol content, ive had two shots already and im pretty much buzzed buzzaed
Phalesafe
No vodka can compare to a well aged single malt scotch whiskey.

+.Vamp Subscriber² Posted March 3, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted March 3, 2008 Ever since an 'incident' with vodka a few years ago, my body no longer allows me to drink it, I feel sick just smelling the stuff. Whiskey however, I do enjoy thoroughly :D

Mordkanin
Whiskey/Whisky because it actually tastes of something... That's probably it. Vodka is pretty much 40/60 alcohol/water. Whiskey (And other hard liquors) are the same thing, but with extra flavor/stuff resulting from how they were made.
Soviet
Every Joe-Smoe and highschool girl drinks vodka. Its... well its nothing special "Good Vodka is better than Whiskey every single time," uh....what? No. Thats just silly. Remember, when you order a drink, it says alot about you. Vodka doesnt say much.
psybapunk
There are extremely good vodkas, and extremely good whiskeys, its just personal preference.

hotdog666al
WHISKEY!!! There is no competition. Vodka is paint stripper, it's got a nasty flavour. Whisky has a great taste, and can be of extremely high quality, unlike vodka.
monkey13
Personally. Nice single malt whisky or what the septics like to call "Scotch" (Mccallum, Dalwhinnie)> Nice vodka (Stolichnaya, Absolut) > Decent blend whisky > Cheap vodka (Smirnoff) > nasty blended Whisky (Teachers, Bells, Grants etc). Got a nice bottle of Dalwhinnie I'm working my way through now. Whiskey can be so much better but can also be so much worse. I one won a bottle of "Famous Stag" (cheep blend) in a raffle. It was disgusting and I thought I could feel it dissolving my teeth.

Jason S. Global Moderator Posted March 3, 2008 Global Moderator Share Posted March 3, 2008 is it possible to have a mild allergic reaction to a specific liquor? could the OP have one towards whiskey but not vodka? of course, looking at it another way, it could be that the OP has different amounts of food in his stomach at the time, or could be more tired or awake... idk, just thinking of ways that liquor could hit you faster vs another. Max Veteran Posted March 3, 2008 Veteran Share Posted March 3, 2008 I have an aversion to Vodka at the moment, after shotting so much of it I now feel ill just thinking about it. Whisky every time :) I tried some 23 year old Port Ellen a few weeks back. Delicious.
Soviet
There are extremely good vodkas, and extremely good whiskeys, its just personal preference. This is true. But everything on the tiers above vodka. (Gin for example is all the simplicity of vodka but with a better flavor). I'm going to say that a good whiskey is miles ahead of a good vodka. It takes like rock and roll and burns like gonorrhea. Speaking of which, I have a nice glass of Gentleman Jack here. Smooth and sweet. Yum. I do love vodka, but I love whiskey more. I wouldnt exactly say Absolut is great vodka. There are a few others that are just a few bucks more and blow it away. Anyways, that's my 3 posts for this year, see you guys in '
