Invizibleyez
I happen to have a few extra USB hubs sitting around. I don't yet need any extra USB ports, but if I do, can I use a USB hub for a computer on the PS3? Is there a special hub designed for the PS3 that I should use instead? morficus
yeah, it will work. I'm using a little no-name self-powered USB hub I got off newegg for like $20. Works perfectlly
Invizibleyez
That sounds great. But.... I realized my hubs I am not using are USB 1.1 The PS3 USB ports are 2.0 Is there any reason to use a 2.0 hub? The only difference between 2.0 and 1.1 is speed, they are electrically identical. But do the controllers need a usb 2.0 hub to work properly?
williamhook
They *should* work fine on a USB 1.1 hub. They both run at the same voltage which I believe is all the PS3 controller would need to charge. Might have a bit of a problem with stuff like the PSEye, as that probably uses USB2.
vf-
I really love the USB hub add-on I purchased when I bought the PS3. Vertical stand, 2 extra USB2 ports and a optional blue LED for looks, that you can have off or on. Mainly bought it as a secure stand. It really compliments the black piano finish when switched on.
