Since I am on Vista 64 bit, what will I benefit from using Firefox 64 bit? Less memory usage, better\faster performance?
No, x64 applications will actually use about
more memory than their x86 counterparts (but this is also mostly true for x86 running on an x64 OS so no real change there.)
You will not see any kind of performance increase either. At least not more than you would see with other unofficial PGO optimized builds made to benefit from SSE-extensions of current x86 CPUs. And Firefox 3 will make these mostly superfluous as well.
So there is basically no benefit from running an x64 build of Firefox. But there are significant drawbacks like the lack of just about any 64-bit version of all common plugins like Flash or even Java.
So no benefits, but lots of hassle ... so if you are a masochist, by all means, go for it.
This is a little different for 64bit versions of Linux but you didn't ask that.
