Neowin Impulse, making money aside from Ads

14 posts in this topic

Hey guys,

Stardock launched Impulse on the 17th of June and Neowin has its own version of the online shop too.

If you use the Neowin executable then anything you purchase from it means we will get some sort of commission reward as a result of the purchase :)

So we finally have a way to make some money aside from Advertising revenue and the subscriber package.

See the press release here: http://www.neowin.net/news/main/08/06/17/s...igital-platform and link to download it here: http://storage.stardock.com/files/Impulse_setup_Neowin.exe

Thanks for your support!

Looks good, but I currently have no use for it :(

I just wish steam would update it's prehistoric GUI to fit in better with Vista - Like Impulse does.

I used that installer, logged in with my Stardock.net account, and... where's the Neowin logo? Doesn't seem to be any. (One of the screenshots on the front page story had it there instead of the generic Stardock orb.)

Congrats Neobond hope much success comes from it! I'm a bit stumped how come you never joined up Amazon Associates. There are enough products mentioned in the forums to generate a lot of keywords. It would not violate Google TOS and I believe it would be a great success to this site.

That's what we need, Valve does not offer yet a steam mac platform, but I don't think Impulse will make a difference, because stardock is only dedicated to the Windows platform, they don't have a single product for mac so I doubt they will do it.

Awesome news. Hopefully this will bring in enough revenue so that more projects come up and Neowin has no choice but to seek out a few new developers....

Impulse doesn't just host Stardock products, so hopefully they'll see an opening for increasing the market = increasing sales and exclusivity deals.

Sadly, I have no use for it either. Very cool on getting a commission from sales though.

While I too have no use for it, I hope it helps the site financially.

Good luck with it, looks good.
