Removing PC from Xbox 360

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I recently upgraded my system to Windows Vista 64 bit Ultimate. However my Xbox still says it wants to connect to my old PC name...is there any way I can delete it and tell it to use my new PC name? Also on a side note another strange issue can any of you guys ping your Xbox 360? I can sign into live just fine play some online games the whole shabang but my PC doesn?t see my 360...and I can?t ping it not even from the router...I use to just turn on my 360 and Vista would pick it up and do the install. It is a clean format UPnP is enabled SSD discovery is on...anyone experience the same issue? Thanks.

im just quoting here so dont hold me to it :p

To switch PCs

On your Xbox 360 console, in the Media area of the Xbox Dashboard, select Music, Pictures, or Video.

If your PC's content is not displayed, press X and select your PC.

Yeah, once you have the new PC configured correctly the old PC will disappear from the list.

I attached some pics hope this helps. Thanks!

Well, your Xbox is not showing in that list. Turn your Xbox and your PC on at the same time. You should see a prompt saying that a device was found and whether you want to share media with it.

Yeah that's what's weird it worked just fine on my old PC. I'm wondering do you think it could be my 2 nics teamed up into 1?

If anyone was wondering I fixed the problem. It was that stupid RealTek NIC Teaming Utility....once I split my NICS back into 2 separate ones the Xbox picked up my computer right away. If I enable NIC teaming boom instant silence....WTF! Now I got 2 cables going into my PC with no real benefit :(

Nope my modem connects to my router and port 1 and 2 are connected to PC port 3 into printer. Lol any 3rd party tools that will let me team my NICS? Thanks.
