[Official] Crysis Warhead

Recommended Posts

I plan on going to the store in a few hours to get it, but I doubt it'll run very well on my laptop, even at low settings, so I'll have to wait a while to play it.

Anyone got it yet? Are the performance enhancements really as big as everyone's saying?

I'm waiting for Steam to let me start preloading it - apparently us Steam users will be able to play it tomorrow.

I loved the original Crysis - IDK how many times I played that one through - can't wait to play this! :D

I don't have Steam installed at the moment but how big is the game on Steam? and is it cheaper than retail?

Radish?

I'm buying it through Steam so I won't have to deal with the stupid DRM infested DVD, and the limited downloads of EA's downloader (unless I want to pay an extra $6). It's the same as retail on Steam.

Bioshock on steam still had the DRM crap. I don't think steam guarantees anything of the sort unless a press announcement is made stating one has the DRM and the other doesn't. If not we need to wait until release.

The DRM is an annoyance but hardly worth complaining about. how many time do you need to reinstall a game ?

Every time you install Windows, which is very often, at least for me...

yay for not using any antivirus and clicking shady links :)

Bioshock on STEAM did not have DRM. Also if you need to reinstall windows often then you need to think about fixing your PC config first before buying software for it.. Single installs for me last years until I upgrade to the next Windows version out.

Yeah, but Crysis, IIRC, requires you to keep the DVD in the drive as you're playing. That's annoying.

Same here, already preordered it. sucks seeing it in the games list and not being able to install it haha.

@ NateB1 not if you get it on steam :p or just wait for a crack. I crack most of my legal games.

Yes it did. heres some articles

BioShock game bundled with DRMalware

Bought Bioshock through Steam? Securom wants it back.

and a post by presumably a Valve member on steam powered

So yes, if you don't want to use a CD then Steams legitimate. However if your concerned about the same sort of issues we are seeing with Spore, until more is known I don't think you can presume anything. Spores issues are clearly the three install limit and if Bioshock can implement Securom over steam so could Crysis.

Hopefully not, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions and they (EA) seem keen to use it elsewhere.

Good evidence, let's just hope they won't do that. I don't think they will.
