Vidar
Late last night, while bombs were dropping over Iraq, Afghanistan was being raided, and this intrepid reporter was listening to the online police scanner, NYPD/FD were having what can only be expressed as a 'patriotic prank.' NYPD officers were requested to make open channel checks and to be on alert for suspicious packages during the night's 'dangerous situation' with the threat of terrorists. What they didn't expect was one more person to jump on the police band besides the dispatcher, who despite her best efforts, was unable to have the "unauthorized transmission" stop. Someone was chiming in from at least 9pm to early the following morning with an occasional broadcast of the "Time to Bomb Saddam" parody song. I've yet to see any news channel or local NYC site carry the story but I found it funny - especially since I was there to witness/hear the broadcasts. The poor dispatcher was having a fit yelling for the offender to stop his unauthorized transmission over police band. :woot:
