Shazam like app for PC?

I tried Tunatic and it found both of the songs I was looking for. One song was contained in a video (unrelated to the song), and the other was embedded in a web page.

The software connects to remote servers which I guess have a database of songs and music. Once the match is found, you can click on the results and it takes you to a page with iTunes, lyrics, and ringtone links.

I had no problem with my microphone, I just held it up to my computer's speakers.

Best results are found when you start the search halfway through the song playing.

By the way, make sure your firewall lets Tunatic connect out.

Great software!

Let me guess; You're working for Sylvain Demongeot, right?

Nope. I didn't even know who Sylvain was until I Googled it.

I was looking for a Shazam type program that works on PCs and I found this thread.

If I was working for whoever, why would I wait like 7 months to post on here? I'd be on it like white on rice.

And just because my post is gives a positive review of the software, and I don't write l1k3 a 14 y34r old n00b, this does not mean I'm a plant. Plus isn't Tunatic freeware anyway?

And just to let you know, Tunatic gave me misses when I first used it, meaning it gave me wrong results. It seems to work best when you do the Tunatic search about halfway through the song playing, not from the beginning. So there you go, I'm pointing out that the software isn't perfect. Plants don't point out bugs, correct?

I'm just giving my props to Tunatic because it helped me find the songs I was looking for.

And if you don't believe me I don't care and you suck balls!!! LOL

Chill, dude. I just found it odd that you (a one post wonder) bumped half year plus thread with that review, that looked more like and ad.

This site is at number 1 on Google if you search for 'Shazam for PC' and thus it's normal that we see some people Tunatic posting here ..

Got a question, my mic is broken on my laptop, so is there an app that listens to the output of the speakers?

I think that makes sense.

You should be able to set the recording input as such in Windows. If you're running Windows 7, open Sound in Control Panel, and look under the Recording tab.

I can't select my speakers as the input. I didn't mention I meant the inbuilt speakers of my laptop.

You could try this web-based service instead. You upload a small audio clip and it identifies the song for you. No need for recording input from your sound card.

http://audiotag.info/

Many sound cards have to option to record whatever is playing out of the speakers, but not all sound cards have this option.

Here's the answer

Show Disabled Devices

Right click in the Sound Recording Options window and select Show Disabled Devices.

Enable Stereo Mix

Select the Stereo Mix device and Enable it. Click on Set as Default Device.

Set Tunatic to Primary Sound Capture Driver and you'll see the frequencies waving.

Hi,

The simple solution is to have a jack-jack wire. One jack will enter into the mic place and on the output source.

That's all. Just play the song and the Tunatic software. :)

You'll have high fidelity and no other noises.

Also sneeze solution it's very ok, but jos for Windows 7. For XP you can do as I said.

HF.
