Official PS3 headset on PC?

Recommended Posts

Is there anyway I can use this headset on my PC?

I mean I can pair it up to my phone absolute fine. Seeing as my PC has no Bluetooth I assume I just need to buy an adapter of some sorts? Anyone know what it would be?

Thanks

Any bluetooth adapter should be fine.

For example http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132475

Ah right that would be all I need?

Awesome, shouldn't be expensive then.

Didn't know if I'd need to go buy a ?20-25 card or something.

I'll still wait and see if anyone can confirm it works, in case Sony block it - But I'd guess not as it works fine with my mobile phone.

That's all you need. If it works fine on your mobile then it'll work fine on your PC. It may say "official" on the box but at the end of the day it is just your bog standard bluetooth headset.

Driver wise, you shouldn't need one, windows should install it all fine.

Should being the keyword. We all know in the computing world things aren't always that smooth :p

For instance, both my laptop and pc have synced to my BT headset fine in the past. On my last format however when I tried to sync the hardware together, nada. Couldn't do it because Windows Update couldn't find the drivers needed, even though it knew it was a BT headset. (no software came with the headset either and there's nothing on the manufac website. I suspect the official headset will be much the same).

Okay thanks guys, just bought a Bluetooth USB adapter off Ebay for like ?4.

I can finally speak in TF2:pp

On an unrelated note, I also got an 8GB memory stick for my PSP. Boy those things have tumbled in price since the last time I had a look at them.

Okay, so I got my adapter in and the PC finds the headset fine (Y)

Issue I have just now though is the PC is outputting my sound through the headset as well which is no use

It's a one-ear bluetooth headset, I want my sound coming out my speakers and just to use the headset for voice chat.

Any help on configuring it like that? I admit I haven't tinkered around with it a lot myself yet, but I'll just ask anyway to see if I get a quick answer!

Thanks (Y)

I always use my headset for the mic function and have sound played through my speakers

In windows xp

Control Panel > Sound > Audio tab

You can change the sound playback to your sound card, sound recording to bluetooth device

Also , in the Voice tab make sure playback is with sound card and recording is bluetooth.
