Reacon Posted December 28, 2008 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Learning Japanese, I thought it would be a good idea to change the default character encoding for "non unicode apps" to Japanese because I keep coming across illegible random characters when using Japanese applications. But apparently, in Japanese fonts, the backslash \ is replaced by the Yen ? symbol. This is a big problem because I can't type filepaths correctly. This happens everytwhere in Windows except Firefox and IE8. I googled it with no result. Does anyone have a way to fix this? I type a backslash in Steam, and it shows up like a Yen to my friends. I transfer a file and on the other computer it still looks like a Yen. It would be no problem if I didn't use the internet.
