hilmy2002 Posted February 3, 2009 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Im looking for a piece of software where i can monitor the servers performance, memory usage, disk space etc. and if possible warn me if the servers cpu is ideling at like 100% and stuff. The main thing is it can do anything you want it to....however setting up the config files on each of the servers you want to monitor can take time. ajcdotme Posted March 29, 2013 Share Posted March 29, 2013 If you're stuck on windows (and depending on the complexity you're looking for) you may want to consider: http://www.shinken-monitoring.org/ I've had a lot of success using Shinken on CentOS boxes for monitoring, but it installs on windows. Shinken is based on the nagios / icinga project, but has been rewritten in python and set up for distributed monitoring and data collection. It uses nagios config files, and when set up correctly will monitor and alert on any number of metrics. Alternatively, you could consider monitoring as a service; it's trivially inexpensive and you can be sure it's done correctly and save some headaches. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. It's free for something like 3 or 5 machines, after that you have to pay.
