ali6
I'm wondering if there is a workaround or a trick to let Win 2003 upgrade from Win XP.
Jason
There has NEVER been a way of upgrading Microsoft's workstation OS's to Server OS's and you wouldn't want to either. Would you want a workstation OS full of junk upgraded to a Server OS then dcpromo'd to a Domain Controller, that would be reliable wouldn't it. ali6
I believe there is. Instead of installing Win 2k3 server and tweak it to Pro, why not just upgrade.
Jason
I believe there is.Instead of installing Win 2k3 server and tweak it to Pro, why not just upgrade. Its a server OS, its not supposed to be tweaked to be like XP. NT4, 2000, XP/2003 none ever upgraded from workstation to server OS. And there still is no valid reason for any company to do so. red8Rain
to do this: reformat and reinstall. Then run dcpromo if you want a DC.
