Does anyone know if this will have to be uninstalled before installing the final release or will you just be able to install the final release on top?

This RC of SP2 will have to be uninstalled before you apply the public release of SP2.

I believe they've stated that it will uninstall the previous version of SP2 before installing a newer build.

Sucks you need Sp1 already installed. First they say you can't officially slipstream Service pack 1 with vista (but you can do it with vlite) now they say you need to have Sp1 installed before you installed Sp2, that just sucks.

Hoepfully the final comes out a lot sooner because of this, but I doubt it!

What's the point? When Microsoft is ready to release the final version it will be available via MS Update.

I see no major performance issues that were fixed. At least the security center now knows that My KIS 2009 is not turned off. It may boot a tad faster.

This isn't the final release.

I did a clean install and got the trial version mark on desktop.

I am going to wait for the final and I am going 64 bit.

I am buying a different fingerprint reader today.

It supports 64 bit vista.

What performance issues? There shouldn't be any to begin with.

They should delay SP2 until IE8 RTMs. So much to slipstream....

Windows 7 can't come soon enough.

Installing Vista on a clean PC is going to take anywhere from 2 hours to 4 now with these service packs and IE8. Bugger that, Im using W7 for now until something show-stopping happens for me.
