John Veteran Posted April 24, 2003 Veteran Share Posted April 24, 2003  what? windows automatically locks the computer???? why? unless you mean screensaver. there is an option to lock the computer after a screensaver is started....

Joel
Are you talking about using AD to lockdown on the domain, or a local lockout? For all who keep saying Winkey+L, that's to lock a workstation, not to lockout the user. He is talking about an account policy.
UnaBonger
I think he's refering to the locking of the workstation (even though we are refering to a server). It's along the lines of - if you dont touch the keyboard or mouse for a pre-determined amount of time the machine automatically locks itself and prompts you to log in again when you move the mouse... just like hitting ctrl-alt-del and selecting "lock computer". As for how to set it, I don't know... :(
Malechai Veteran Posted April 24, 2003 Veteran Share Posted April 24, 2003 if thats the case, as others have said, its tied to the screensaver. i've included a screenshot below..i'm on win2k but its in the same place. if you want it to lock faster, lower the screensaver time.
