tomwarren Veteran Posted April 29, 2003 Veteran Share Posted April 29, 2003 Lol, themes don't exactly take up more CPU I can tell you that. Possibly about 100k more memory but hardly any CPU usage.

NeoMayhem
The funniest thing about people using 2k3 over XP, is that from all the testing I have done it is a little bit slower. People just think it is faster because they most likly did a clean install and dont have any SH*T installed yet :p 2k3 and XP are about just as stable :p If you want speed, then 2000 with SP3 is the best OS ;) I really dont know why people use XP, it is like a wossy OS for kids :(

briangw
If you want speed, then 2000 with SP3 is the best OS ;) OMG, you just made me laugh soo hard. SPEED??? hahahaha. You are mistaken. 2k with SP3 is slower at bootup, apps take longer to load, and one of my PCs used to reboot when I clicked on hyperlink on www.twincities.com, in IE everytime with Win2k, even after installing SP 1, 2, and 3. My XP machines are much faster than Win2k ever was. The only think Win2k was ever fast at, was limited time on my PCs.

While you're at it, let him know too.i know for a fact my pc ran much better with 2000 than it does with xp (which i have used for about a year now on here). so until you have used everyones pc in the world don't tell us how a certain OS runs on our pc's, ok? Gee, I think I've said this before in other posts..... edit: your stupidity made me laugh extremely hard Great!!! You want a cookie or something? I'm glad I can make you laugh at my expense ;) While your bashing me, maybe you should jump on NeoMayhem's case for saying similar things. For as long as I remember, I've been the one who's said in many posts that it all depends on hardware. A good example of that is why Win2k is more compatible at my job than XP is. At home? It's never been that way. Edited May 1, 2003 by briangw
